Sounds like we both think something is missing. All that posturing by WSP for .75 a share?

I could have sworn the directors had more than 9m shares.

Isn't it interesting how many tid bits we can come up with rather than face what seems to be a sell out.

It looks like we found the answer to the question of whose company it was in the first place. Although RT in the last updates seems concerned that shareholders not get "shafted" by such a lowball offer.

Something does not compute but they sure do seem to have painted themselves into a hole. Why do it if the deal is not in good faith? Not many loopholes in the info we presently have.

I guess we are thinking that it just cannot be happening.

I hear you Trev , but realistically , I think the game is over:

1. WSP has agreed not to solicit bids (i.e. the "data rooms" are closed).

2. DB has the right to match any competing bid - this is a killer (who would spend $$ to make a competing bid when DB's can simply match).

3. WSP mgmt have agreed to tender and DB's has a break-up fee.

IOW , IMO a competing bid between now and the 25th , while not impossible , is extremely unlikely.

Regards.

Hi Trev,

I have absolutely NO intention of filling out my papers to DeBums yet:)

My message was merely to congratulate those who held firm when the market took us below the DB offer.

Maybe I am an eternal optimist, but this quote "Winspear's management and Board of Directors have agreed not to solicit any competing offers, to provide De Beers with a right to match any competing offer should one materialize..." gives me hope that since our little baby is sitting so pretty, the big boys just MIGHT have a brawl over her.

At any rate, it is my intention to wait until the 11th hour before tendering to DeBums. Bring on the rest of the boys!!!

Cheers,

Sue

Hello Trev. Perhaps you have answer to my question.
Why would anyone sell today on open market? Let me explain,
if I sell on the open market, my transaction will be
subject to commission on the sale.
If I tender my shares, than the transaction will be commission free. Today, over 3 mil. shares changed hands, why would anyone sell for less! than $5 plus commission costs on top of it.
