IBM/NOVL rumour ongoing for years.

Why would Schmidt who came from SUNW and still has formidable ties to the company through NOVL would even considering selling to a competitor such as IBM?

IBM.......marriage probably not in the works.

I suspect you're right. True as A8 says, that IBM has no need for them in the commonly assumed role for their network products, but their service divisions would be a nice arrow in the IBM quiver.
