a couple issues back they were talking about a 10% to 20% transfer of Govt. systems to Linux. benefits of the transfer were to occur in the latter half of this year and all next. many are concentrating on Windows2000; not considering Linux and the impact it will have on revenue generation. Dell was among the first to prepare systems for Linux inter-operability. they've worked out most of the bugs by now. also coming are improved board substrate interconnects; significant improvement in heat resistance, speeds up communication - all requiring time, but also eventual total replacement
