Joe <There is no price cut. AMD just increase the clock speed 100 MHz and kept prices the same. The fastest chip is as expensive as the old fastest chip etc.>

Semantics aside, sweetspot is moving up nicely. One gig is no longer the fastest processor. 750-850Mhz doesn't sound like a supermachine anymore, I think it will entice average consumers to upgrade and companies to think about upgrading.

Windows upgrade is out in two weeks. I think there are a few people out there holding back on new computer purchases.

A lot of people are still punching away on 300-400Mhz machines and I think there will be a wave of buying this Christmas season. Every family member of mine is talking about upgrading.

Just my thoughts - from a non-techie perspective. :)
