MEMO: To the Thread, and the "Trillionaire Avengers"

Just to let you all know, Bryan and I are "cool." Many of you on this thread don't know what's been happening, so I'll let you in on a little of it. Last Spring Bryan pulled off a classic April Fools prank on me, Sarkie, and the Go2Netrillionaires. It was so devious and well done that it completely sucked in some of the finest minds (at least that's what they told me) in all of cyberspace. All, except for SI-Sy, that is, who informed us (after the fact) that he figured it out right away. But he's our only certified genius, and a charter member of MENSA, I believe. It was an incredibly mischievous prank, and much too complicated to go into detail. Suffice to say, it involved dozens of attorneys, thousands of man-hours, copyright infringement laws, the SEC, the use of the "$" sign illegally implying huge profits to be made, and some extremely rare buttons.

Anyway, today I had a very pleasant visit with Bryan at the sanitarium where they are keeping him at the moment. I must admit, his (now) gray hair goes extremely well with the white straightjacket he was wearing. With the white pants, it made for a very nice color-coordinated ensemble, and he looked incredibly stylish. And it's amazing how fast he can still type on this puter, with just a pencil in his teeth. I thought I saw him try to mouth the word "Uncle," but they have him so heavily sedated I could be wrong, and he could have been trying to mutter some really naughty words <g>

So, to make a short story long, I decided, after seeing Bryan in a condition like that to call off the "Avengers," and declare an Armistice. I know our unruly rag-tag army of incredibly creative and devious subversives will be extremely disappointed. I fully realize that our "long-term" plan for Bryan was to drive him absolutely and totally "insane" by April 1, 2001. However, I've decided to settle for just turning him into an institutionalized muttering paranoid. I do encourage all Trillionaires to go visit him at the "home," and I'm sure you will agree that we've done more than enough to the poor guy.

And we can be proud that we came extremely close to getting him "suspended" from SI, for his first and only major TOU violations. If SI Bob hadn't been on vacation, and if SI Jeff wasn't such a "touchy-feely" sort of cop, I think we might well have succeeded in that also. But oh well. Perhaps we'll save that for another day. :)

I have told Bryan that I'm putting out a directive to all my top-secret operatives (the exact number of which is highly classified, but it's well into the thousands by now, counting all the "lurkers"), to return to home base and cease all operations immediately!!! Some of them have been placed in such "deep cover" positions, it may not be possible to get them all back out safely. I also realize some of our operations have been well underway for quite some time, and others in the "planning phase" would have set a new standard for an April Fools Day "prank" revenge. But enough is enough. It was getting a little out of hand, and I hate to see "piling-on" when a guy is down. However, it may prove to be impossible to now stop several of our self-perpetuating top-secret operations. I have asked one of my top generals, SI-Sy, to see what he could do about reversing the "Credit Rating Destruction Project," removing all computer hard disk "worms," canceling the "Bryan for President" red-thonged demonstration planned for the next shareholders' meeting, and taking out the hundreds of hidden "listening devices" and cameras already in place. I have also sent a directive to another top general, levy (who also serves as our Finance Minister), to close our secret Swiss bank account, where Bryan's stock options were to be deposited (as they're now almost worthless anyway). :(((

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Roger :)

PS. I'm sure Bryan would appreciate flowers or get-well cards any of you might like to send to the "home" . . . But please, no sharp objects of any kind. :)

PPS. And yes, Bryan really did get a "promotion," and very deservedly so! He's a truly great guy, and one of the "jewels in the crown" of GNET. Now, if he could only help do something about the stock's price, we'd all be happy. Although, I do wish he'd cut back on the caffeine just a tad. <g>
