Edwards & Magee on the importance of volume behind breakouts of symmetrical triangles (applies to both the Dow and IBM here, as the second half of a diamond is considered a symmetrical triangle in both pattern and volume):

"It is ... essential that an upside break in price be confirmed by a marked increase in trading volume; lacking volume, do not trust the price achievement."

It would seem that we have a high probability of failure here.

Donald , It looks like some rotation from the NAZ to the
NYSE and the NYSE is getting back some of her leggs.
The Value line is finally looking better, if it can get
over 430 before pulling back then I'll start thinking
the bottom is firm enough to buy some dips.
While I think we should get another dip; one more good day
and I'll give up on my stand that we haven't seen the lows
yet.
