Investor Group Puts SEC Officials Under “FIRE”

An organization of “outraged” investors has formed “F.I.R.E.,” the Federation for Investment Reform and Equality, “to effect long overdue and necessary reform to the stock markets and exchanges,” according to Mitch Levy, better known to his Raging Bull message board correspondents as “SPEC_U_LATE”.

Tactics: Hit highly placed SEC executives individually with a firestorm of mail citing inequities and demanding changes.

The SEC was surprised and somewhat overwhelmed at the massive response to its request for comments on rules changes last year, and gave the public the impression that it’s correspondence does have an impact.

But FIRE is circumventing the standard complaint procedure, and seeking to achieve reforms by mandating the SEC to add to and change existing rules, regulations, and to enforce them.

“We plan on doing this by publicly holding the governing members of the SEC accountable for their actions and lack thereof,” Levy told OTC News network.

FIRE has targeted two individuals well up the chain of command at the SEC. “We will initially be sending the officials of the SEC an e-mail starting Tuesday, August 15 and continuing through Friday August 18.” Levy said.

“I don’t want to say in advance who they are,” Levy said. “We want a certain surprise element. ”

“The following week we will be sending a list of the new additional rules and changes to the existing rules and regulations that we want to be put forth for public comment.” Levy urged like-minded investors to join FIRE by joining in on the MMMANIP board on Raging Bull.

Levy is sending out a form letter to members, which they can send as is or personalize. Excerpts from the basic letter the SEC people will receive:

“As you have no doubt observed, the growing ground swell of infuriated individual investors and corporate officials are beginning to step forward in unprecedented numbers to voice their discontent with the regulation and lack thereof in the U.S. stock exchanges and markets. ”

“Amongst your responsibilities as leaders of the SEC are the oversight of the rules, regulations and when necessary, enforcement actions in the aforementioned markets. Not withstanding your recent attempts at market reform at the behest of individual investors and various companies, we feel it has been too little too late and you continue to be woefully negligent in the enactment of changes that are so desperately needed. ”

“Many issues related to the stock exchanges and markets that you ostensibly oversee have been unjust to individual investors and companies for too long of a time. This unjust bias against the small investor must cease. ”

“Our next correspondence will list the demands we want to be submitted for public comment. It is time for REAL change and we are united to see that it occurs.”

The letter writer will sign the e-mail with their names and the organization name.

Earlier, Levy posted the following on the message board:

“Based upon the recent responses you've posted and emailed me regarding the changes you'd all like to see enacted in the markets, it's become overwhelmingly clear that the most important entity that needs to become more responsive to our cause is the SEC. ”

“Accordingly, in a couple of days I'll be emailing all of you who have sent me an email a form letter that can be used to email your dissatisfaction with the SEC and its turning a of blind eye and deaf ear to individual investors. This letter will also be accompanied by an email address for a high ranking SEC official in charge of market regulations. ”

“In a united effort, we will be heard and acknowledged as a force to be reckoned with. Thanks to all that have shown support to this cause.”

email SPEC_U_LATE@ragingbull.com if you want to be added to the list, and want to help.
Let's change some stuff.
The SEC came out with those proposed rules because of all the emails they received- they will receiev more this time, and SPEC has an organized effort going.
