Acquires Exclusive World-Wide Usage of Gasification Technology DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2000--Integrated Technology Group, Inc., (OTCBB:ITGI) announces that its subsidiary Recycled Energy has entered into an agreement and has obtained worldwide rights for the use of a thermal extraction gasification system from Presnall Technologies located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the gasification of scrap tires. Scott Holden, Chairman and CEO of ITGI, stated, "Mr. Presnall has developed an indirect fired rotary kiln for the treatment and extraction of hydrocarbon materials. The primary use of this technology, in the past, has been cleaning hydrocarbon contaminated soils and refinery tank bottoms. We have worked with Mr. Presnall in adapting his proven technology towards the gasification of scrap tires." ITGI is now going through the permitting process in Oklahoma and will build the gasification system in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Choctaw is also home to Safe Tire that has been acquired by ITGI and will be the sole supplier of shredded tires to the project. Mr. Holden added, "We began researching the best utilization of scrap tire years ago. Tires are a petroleum-based product and have excellent thermal value. The major problem with tire is how to extract this energy efficiently and affordably. We looked at new combustion technology such a CFB (Circulating Fluidized Bed) boilers but the capitol cost of such a project was extremely expensive and the projects just were not economical. What excites us the most with Mr. Presnall's system is that it is a proven technology with a much lower capitol cost that makes a project like this make economical sense. Products extracted from the system are oil and gas which we re-blend, carbon, which can be used as a fuel and the steel wire where we already have markets for. Although heat is used to breakdown the tires we are not burning the tires to capture the energy and product values." Initially ITGI plans to market the oil to refiners but for the long term they plan to enter the "green energy field." Green energy is renewal power produced from wind, solar and biomass, which tires are in the biomass category. "The oil produced from the process when re-blended with the produced gas creates a fuel oil that can drive a turbine engine for power production. By utilizing an oil fired turbine engine we will have the flexibility to produce power either on a continuous base load or on a peak demand basis. These projects would produce anywhere from 7 MW to 15 MW of electricity dependent upon the volume of tires within a given area or region," Mr. Holden added. ITGI has become a vertical integrated company with the acquisition of Safe Tire and Recycled Energy that will have the ability to consume any volume amount of scrap tires they obtain. There are two sizes of gasification systems designed. The smaller unit, which is being constructed in Oklahoma, will consume approximately 27,000 tons per year and the larger unit will use up to 50,000 tons per year. After the completion of the Oklahoma project, which is expected to be on line at the end of this year ITGI plans to construct two to three units at the Safe Tire facilities in Texas.
