Congratulations to your mother for her efforts.
I'm a teacher too though, in the public schools for now because they pay the most and give the most perks, and I see waste and corruption everywhere: there is plenty of money going to education but it mostly winds up in special programs and administration, not the classroom. For example: nationwide there is one administrator to every 19 students: in Ca and other large states it is one administrator to every 9 students (at least that was three years ago, it might be even worse now.)Personally I believe one adminstrator for every 400 students as in many private schools would be just fine.
