Sam: If you feel like you are being 'broken' there is a multiplying to follow. I am being broken in four ways as we speak. Two in the spiritual , two in the natural. But that is the time to start getting excited. That is the time to start rejoicing for you are worthy to be broken and worthy to be multiplied or added to in the eyes of God. How can He not have your best interest at heart. If there is a spirit of materialism that you and your wife are struggling against, God is more than able to deliver you. NO NO NO I'm not saying that you are materialistic. What I'm saying is that the enemy comes against us and tries to get us to feel sorry for ourselves.
Good example ! I could go out and buy a very nice car or SUV, brand new off the showroom car. I am prosperous, praise to the Lord. But I keep on driving my 90 'Norker' with 93000 miles. Why. Just love the car. Don't know why, really ? The enemy keeps on trying to tempt me to go buy new. I'm just not going to do it. I'm going to fight that fallen angel as long as I can. The transmission is going bad but the Lord keep right on providing. I'll get rid of it when I am convinced that someone else needs the car more than I do; not a minute before. The last car I had, actually a van; I finally loaned it to a man that needed a vehicle for a few days. A tractor trailer took the side off of it on the interstate. The insurance company paid me 3500 for it and it wasn't worth more than 1200. So you see that by waiting for or on the Lord you get blessed and blessed.
Take care my friend, in Christ, Gregor

Sa-mule, I just had to comment because this subject is an area that is really complex because God's will and the human will is involved. I have wanted my prayers for specific things to come to pass so badly that as time passed and my prayers were not being answered, I had to fuss and fume about what the Lord was doing for others and not for me. This is what gets us into deep problems, I can assure you when we pray for specific things to come to pass. The Lord knows our situation. We are not beggars, that have to petition God continually. As our growth increases in the Lord as a son or daughter we come to realize that there is a purpose and a design behind God's will for you.

St. Paul says we do not even know what to pray for but God has more for us than we could even imagine.

It is better to pray that His will be done and to accept our circumstances as God's will for us at this time.

In my 56 years I know one thing for certain.

Phil. 4:19
"19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

God will provide us with our needs. He has always provided for me no matter what circumstances I was in.

I am not preaching. I am just relating what God has taught me through want and abundance.

Seek His will and not our wants. I know that He will provide for you and your family and I am prayerfully hoping that you can find understanding in the tests you are having.

God bless,
James
