The above statement makes no sense in many ways. One thing for sure, Outlook will never run under the require of Blackberry OS. Developing for RIM Wireless Handhelds is different than developing for a PC. Memory, file system space, and power are all precious resources and any successful application will endeavour to actively minimize the usage of each. That is not to say however, that you cannot use the available resources to their fullest potential, but you should remember that other applications have to co-exist on the same handheld. Generally, you should tend to optimize your code for size and memory usage. Speed is not often an issue on the handheld. Once loaded onto the handheld, you can check code size and memory usage by running the PROGRAMMER.EXE utility with the DIR option. As a general guideline, try to keep maximum memory (RAM) usage around 8K and flash ROM (FLASH) usage around 64K. Most CE application don't follow the above requirement. Outlook has ZERO chance of that. Also, CE is just a different OS from Blackberry, no application can be shared. From my 2 minutes reading of the Blackberry OS, it's probably the most elementary OS that you can think of. In fact, it doesn't qualify to be an OS. It's no more than a scheduler with some memory and flash management with drivers for radio, LCD, and serial prot. Going forward, major revisions are needed to make the Blackberry OS any good for the massive number of applications that a PDA OS need to carry. At this point, I have to say that CE is much much much more advanced than the Blackberry OS, but the OS does do what it needs to do, which is two way messaging. Regards, Khan
