he better straighten the weather out over there before he buys those ads!

:o)

cc highlights...

fwiw this is my take, in brief, on the call.

gmst is going to divide the business into 4 separate reporting elements...i am sure this is intended to make it easier to get a grip on growth. and easier for us to understand future reports.

i have the details but you will probably understand it better by listening to the replay.

cash on hand 377 million.

in 40 countries.

ad revs, which i have highlighted as being most important to me the last few calls, were north of 2 million. i believe that compares to 800,000 last quarter....very acceptable growth imo. i am looking for 100% or better sequential growth in ad revs and we are getting it.
critical mass for ad revs remains 5 million...henry says nielson type measurements will begin soon. imo these are important for establishing ad rates.

much discussion on tvgui guide and gmst guide and some on differences....both will be operable.

total tv's with guide over 3 million....total STBs with tvgui over 3 million...growth continues at an acceptable pace to me. we are now entering the high sales period for TVs. this growth # should accelerate the next 2 quarters.

experiments with ads continue. many ad questions from analysts....henry is a visionary...his answers probably don't satisfy them...i could care less...the man produces results.

on-going negotiations with everyone...imo many deals are close.
have discussed time/warner with aol.
dish highlighted...that one may be real close.

revs include an inconsequential amount of settlement revenues...is henry holding them for future use?

tivo not an issue.

wgat...3 of the 4 mso's playing with wgat are in negotiations with gmst....i keep wgat on my screen...stock has been dropping again...may be a sign that they are not going to win anything.

e-books happen mid-october...sounds like a massive ad campaign is arranged.
i believe sony playstation II and an e-book will be the hot gifts for this holiday season, and 99% of the folks who will buy them do not know they exist yet.

red flags...
no long term ad contracts signed yet.
tvgui numbers not reported...and they will not be reported this quarter...i do not like that.

my guess...we bounce around for a bit....that will change as major deals are announced. then, in october, i expect to see lots of ads from thompsons, gmst, rca and ge for e-books.

i do not believe we will see any real big moves from this conference call. but, that all changes when dish and others sign contracts. and again when e-books roll-out.

NYStew....your turn...please post your comments.
