If you don't know what a speedpath is, who are you to be asking questions about steppings? Have you thought about applying for a job as a tech stock analyst? Some people come to this thread to learn, others to beat their chests... Do you understand why the thunking mechanism that microsoft will use to execute 32 bit binaries on NT 64 will cause catastrophic performance penalties on a VLIW CPU? Would you design a VLIW CPU if you thought dynamic bindings was the future of software? Do you understand why HP is "giving" there VLIW CPU designs to Intel, why HP thinks they hold a technological wildcard that such CPU's will absolutely require? thump, thump.
