well, many are priced as if they actually ARE going to go out of business. i looked at some long term chart of well known mid tier gold and silver stocks recently - the carnage is breathtaking. CDE falling from a high of 35 in 1980 to 1 1/2 now for example. either they ARE going out of business, or it's a generational buying opportunity.

check the silver bullish consensus chart - note the divergence between price and lack of bullishness - and look at what happened on prior occasions:
