I agree with the point that palm still gets the revenues for the use incurred w/ the operating system...a point well taken. However, that isn't going to happen overnight, which is what I feel (jmo) that a lot of the people on the thread seem to feel is going to happen. I'm curious as to why you think Palm has the market cornered....maybe they did, 6 months ago, when none of the serious competition realized what was happening yet. You seem to feel it's not a low margin product. The company that spun it off has a somewhat different opinion, or they wouldn't spun it off. Don't get me wrong as each to his own, and I could be terribly wrong, but "IT AINT WINDOWS" and it's still in its' infancy stage(as well as all the others) with respect to carrying information over the air. Cell phone was a great idea too, however there are a hell of a lot of areas in the world where it doesn't work at all. Do I hold a position in PALM. Not at all...I dumped it @ 38.25 and put the $55,000 back into Coms where I consider the downside risk to be much much less, with a sensible P/E. Each to his own although I think there are going to be a lot of people crying over this one...at least in the short term. I don't plan to hang on to any tech stock for the next 3 years, considering market volitility, waiting for the company to profit from its operating system.
