BentleyTel.com Gets Page Width Australian Financial Review Press Coverage For the Launch of Australia's First Wholesale IP Telephony Service

Global TeleMedia International Announced That Upon Launching Its National VOIP/VPN/ITSP Network More Than 30 Existing ISP's Have Shown Interest in The First Wholesale Affiliate ITSP Program in Australia

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Global TeleMedia International (OTC Bulletin Board: GTMI) (www.GTMI.com) announced today that it had successfully launched the first VoIP/VPN/ITSP National Network in Australia. The ISPCON 2000 saw the launch of BentleyTel's Wholesale IP telephony service, which utilizes Ericsson's IP Telephony Solution (IPT). Existing ISP's will soon commence using BentleyTel's IP Network, rather than the Internet as traditional VoIP systems have done to date, BentleyTel is the first able to provide high quality, affordable IP Telephony to Australian ISP's.

More than 30 Australian ISP's have shown interest in this innovative service which allows them to offer IP Telephony to their clients "virtually" without the vast infrastructure costs normally associated with such a massive undertaking. ISP trials will begin soon with a number of key ISP's in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, ready for the national rollout in October 2000. These companies include Xenon Internet in Brisbane and other Key ISP's in Sydney and Melbourne who are keen to be among the first Australian ISP's to offer this exciting new product to their clients.

Australasian Managing Director, Felino Molina, addressed the ISPCON as a speaker in one of the most keenly anticipated sessions of the conference where he demonstrated the system. BentleyTel. (Aust) www.bentleytel.com has worked with Ericsson Australia (ERICY) for almost two years to test and participate in the development of the VoIP platform, which utilizes Ericsson's "Tigris" Routers to manage BentleyTel's national IP network. The "Tigris" was found to be more tolerant and robust that other similar hardware tested.

BentleyTel's national core network offers ISP's throughout Australia unparalleled connectivity, further enhanced by the potential to connect existing "Tigris" users to the network, enabling unprecedented regional coverage throughout Australia. Connectivity to the US is currently under negotiation and should be available in time for the October rollout. Because the IP Telephony is wholesaled to ISP's, the marketing strategy is two-tiered. The first level is aimed at ISP's and the second tier is the BentleyTel Affiliate Program which will be available for individual ISP's to brand with their own logos, promoting IP Telephony, the Phonedoubler(TM) and Phonedoubler Quick Call (TM) to their clients.

ISPCON 2000 was the first step in a broad-reaching marketing strategy. According to Ericsson there are approximately 70 companies utilizing the "Tigris" platform to provide ISP services. BentleyTel will be able to connect these ISP's on the affiliate program and allow them to become an extension of the BentleyTel National Network. BentleyTel now aims to deliver VoIP to the clients of at least these 70 ISP's in the first year of operation. The conference was so successful that Network Manager Rob Merkwitza remained in Melbourne after the conference to meet with ISP's that had called to sign up on our network.

GTMI President Jonathon Bentley-Stevens said, "It is important for our shareholders to understand this achievement. GTMI is not offering short-term software products that after millions are spent in development have a sale life of 6-12 months. GTMI through BentleyTel is here to stay. We are focused on long-term growth, increased market share and profits. BentleyTel has its own cutting edge Optic Fiber VoIP Network that compares to any leading network in the World. By delivering voice using IP protocol we can deliver 6 conversations simultaneously on the same line that conventional telephone utilizes to carry one conversation. This means that the Optic Fiber National Network can be up to 6 times more profitable to BentleyTel than the same amount of lines to Australia's largest conventional carriers.

Further more utilizing options such as PhoneDoubler clients can make and receive calls while on line through a single phone line. We believe the entire world of communications will eventually become VoIP and in this regard BentleyTel.com is a leader. We also believe we can deliver data and voice competitively for the next 20 years or more. By offering affiliate programs to regional ISP's we will be able to deliver VoIP to these areas that are under serviced by the major Telco's, in this regard we are building brand loyalty upon which we plan to build a strong e-commerce goods and services base for our Smart-e-Card and other products."
