Still can't get either here is Staten Island, but you, of all people Pat, if you can get DSL you owe it to yourself. I know you're into CMTO, but you'll forever be linked with the inception of DSL via Amati -- and you more than anyone else knows the difference between DSL and cable. Wonder if Jim has ever been DMTed?

You're absolutely right! And the site you posted is cool --- plug in your house address and it tells you how far from the CO you are. I'm 775 ft. (appx.)

The only reason I've hesitated to switch from cable to DSL is the one-year contract I signed. When it's up, I'll switch.

You might consider satellite service in lieu of cable or DSL. About 400k download. Try direcpc.com. Hughs offers the service through DirectTV, I believe.
