MK -- yup! coastlines and snowflakes...I've done enough to respect it...take a look ( personnally I think it can provide some insight)--- there is a set of TAer who apply chaos theory or neural nets -- know any?

Turbulence and nonlinear theory is great to predict stock movements.

Unless of course, Big company A decides to undercut little company B, then the self similar scaling laws seem to break down and may be we better apply Wavelet transforms.

I used to do pure turbulence research and one of my former colleagues got a job trying to apply these kinds of concepts to stock price movements. I told him if he came up with anything, to give me a call.

That was 2 years ago. So far, haven't heard back....
