I'm not sure what your point is. For a long time after the Spring IDF many were spouting the info from that forum, where Intel said SDRAM would be an interim solution while all mainstream desk tops migrated to RDRAM. They showed all mainstream desk tops as RDRAM by the end of 2001.
They also said the interim solution would be 2+2 SDRAM/RDRAM, with no other memory planned for the desktop. They said the 2+2 would accelerate RDRAM deployment.
They also said they plan to transition mobile memory to RDRAM.
Clearly the roadmap has changed, but at spring IDF things were much brighter for DRDRAM. And here's a link to verify my statements.
