John, note that the 97% bulls reading occurred at the MAy top - it's not that high now, though not too far away either. btw, i forgot to mention another strong contrarian buy signal for gold - negative title stories in the non-financial press - we've had two of those in recent weeks (you know, the "gold is dead" type of stories). notoriously when the non-financial press finally picks up on a trend, the trend is usually close to reversing. in the same vein, the recent preponderance of POSITIVE magazine titles on biotech should make one a bit wary of that sector.
