I was most surprised by the argument that a high percentage of US imports were from nations with higher wage rates (like Japan) because the US lacks the capacity to produce many of the basic components that go into their assembled end-item products.

Hi Ron,

I haven't read the article so I don't know what significance he was implying but my initial reaction is no big deal. I can't seem to access the article. If you can give me a quick recap of his specific point I'll be happy to take a swing at it.
