Shares of Analog Devices (ADI: news, msgs) could get a boost Wednesday morning due to the company’s improved earnings report. Third-quarter earnings totaled $164.5 million, or 43 cents a share, compared with $54.6 million, or 15 cents a share. The consensus estimate on Wall Street was for a profit of 37 cents a share. Sales reached $701 million, up 85 percent compared with the year-ago total. “The continuing very strong demand for high-performance signal processing ICs used in a very range of applications resulted in
Analog’s exceptional revenue growth in the third fiscal quarter,” said Jerald G. Fishman, president and chief
executive officer. The company expects double-digit sequential revenue growth in the fourth quarter of 12 to
14 percent to $785 to $800 million and earnings per share of 49 to 50 cents a share. Analysts currently expect a fourth-quarter profit of 41 cents.
