Terrence, I understand the utopian Rand Model you speak of. However, we have reality to deal with and what that reality entails. The reality is government DOES tax its citizens, and will likely continue doing so far into the foreseeable future.

Therefore, it's logical to look for ways to incrementally reduce the burden on us by challenging the validity of existing programs, and making the proponents of those programs responsible for their results. Where no (positive) results exist, the programs and costs should be alleviated. Bush makes an excellent point by calling on all of us to usher in a "responsibilty era".

Let's make government programs responsible for their success or failure.
