John,

I can't believe we would not have heard about this before, but the rest of the numbers are accurate based on the fund holdings I have looked at for others. I believe a call to IR would clear it up.

For each institutional buying you had at least 100 little guys selling during Q2. At least 25% of these took up residence on SI and the other 50% on Yahoo.

"...Daniel H. Renberg & Assoc apparantly bought 28% of QCOM..."
----------

Why??

For whom, exactly, is he accumulating??

Can't be a simple investment - can it?

Could this be the front end of a hostile offer??

Remarkable that he could amass such a quantity without word seeping out...

Not pleased.

John,

I think it's an error on Insider Trader's part.

Edgar shows Renberg holding 336,825 shares, with a value of $20,209,000. It looks like Insider Trader bunched some numbers together from the Value and Shares columns to come up with: 209,336,800 shares.

Renberg's holdings as of 6/30/00: secinfo.com

Anyway, that's what it looks like.

Climber (had me interested there for a minute :))

Apparently the report is erroneous. If any group purchasing shares exceeds 5.2% of total outstanding, then they must file a 13D with the SEC. I find no such indications on any of the databases I track. I also find no basis for institutional bashing of the stock, as I heard once again this morning on CNBC.
