Albert - Re: <as per amd, "hammer" is right on schedule. It is just we all hoped that it would be released way ahead of schedule which still might be true:
www1.amd.com;

AMD says:

<AMD plans to announce the first “Hammer” processor at the end of 2001.>

Unfortunately, the AMD answer was written to deflect legal liability and says only that AMD "plans" to "announce" the Hampster. Translation: AMD hopes that maybe it will have something to say about the Hampster by the end of 2001 but we don't know what we will say or if we will say it.

This is very weak support for the idea that AMD will actually release silicon at the end of 2001.

re: Message 14198490

This drachelle person, be it female or male, appears to have come up with a new tool for calling bottoms and tops for AMD common. There is not enough data yet to call it decisive but I do like whom else she (he) chooses to cite in her (his) posts.

Further, she (he) does seem to have done a monumental amount of homework. Only a recent member but it looks as though research of the two threads involved goes back for some years of what must have been voracious reading.

I hope that the very timely call and observations prove out.

Regards,
