ahhaha,

I am an engineer and I do know a lot about howthe leg bone is connected to the thigh bone. That don't mean I know about the ins and outs of maintaining an HFC LAN. I think one of the things you are good at is comparing theory with real world reality. Those two concepts don't cross paths too often. Usually the guy holding the bag is the less formally educated blue collar worker who doesn't have the communication path back to the better educated leaders who dictate what should be. I have blue collar roots so I know this first hand.

What you are continue to imply is that knowing the ins-and-outs of how something works on paper doesn't always translate to how it works in the real world. My cable tech knew that in his own way and it cost TCI a truck role even though I did everything right.

I think the key is to make that role as efficient as possible. The role, or an equivalent, is going to happen no matter what anyone wishes. It's just the nature of the medium.
