Raymond, some digital camera models which costs several thousands $ can produced very high quality picture, however they will never be accessible for 85% customers even in US and Europe. These 85% population can not effort to spend
extra several hundred $ each year ( camera, cards, software and others toys) to play with with pictures.
To do so you need extra time and money.
As a fisherman I prefer to go fishing instead spend my time sitting in front of computer. I am doing this to much anyway.
Sure, people who like that will enjoy.
Kids, that a different story, however it is easy to spend
many hours on parents cost playing with computers.
If a kid will "waste" its time, he/she will never get good education/job and will never have in his live enough money and time to play with digital imaging anyway.

I love digital imaging for sharing pictures and for many useful, not critical, applications.
