Thanks for the (as always) interesting responses to my questions, Steven. Now, for the Chechen sites. The official Maskhadov government site is in English: chechengovernment.com The original "rebel" site is in Russian, although it does have a few items translated into English (look on left hand side of the page, to click): kavkaz.org Take a look at it; even if you don't understand it, you will see how professional-looking it is. It is ironic that for the longest time everyone thought this site was the "official" rebel site, even though it was anti-Maskhadov from the outset. Typical that Maskhadov should have taken so long to get his own site (or rather, the Foreign Minister's) up and running. Don't have time to go into the background here (bed beckons), but here is an old article of mine, from last September, that might be helpful: tolfast.net There is also a totally weird Wahhabi site (again, in English -- sort of), which is not actually Chechen at all (the publisher, an Arab cleric, is a fan of that blind mullah sentenced in connection with the World Trade Center bombing): qoqaz.net Joan
