When you are using the word "fresh" are we talking reformatting the hard drive and a clean install from a recovery disk? Sigh. Nobody seems to get it. You think they are working with clean pristine systems now? I've seen how people keep their computers. You have too. You really think someone having popped in an install CD is going to radically make things any harder? Every single day installers deal with screwed up wires and screwed up computers. Having a user plug in the modem and pop in a CD is not going to make it any worse. Eric

Grace, I say advertising a free month of service would do more than anything else to boost demand in areas where they need to, where there isn't a backlog. I just say an ATHM commercial advertising free install and the first month free in the Bay Area on the glass tit. Juno is also advertising free service or "premium" high speed service (DSL) in key spots. They realize that the dial-up $20/month game is up. ATHM is starting to spring up in areas that count. Further, I believe that the Excite Mr. Lucky campaign is winding down. I never knew what they were trying to sell with that. KB ps. I know this is sacrilige but I played around with the Excite customization stuff today and it is pretty cool. Very easy to configure your home page with what you want to see. Too bad that all the choices are Excite and not the best the net has to offer in each category. Facility not creation.
