i know! ain't gonna last...this price spike is likely the last hurrah in the short to medium term, unless there is really a politically motivated cut-off of supplies by OPEC (to stop the Gore/Lieberman ticket - they'd have to be careful though to do it in such a way that their targets get the blame).

otherwise i'd say the anticipation of a slowdown down the road should bring crude oil back down to earth. it'd be nice though to see a 40 handle for the shock value.
