t2 (EDIT: meant to reply SMITTY, not good at posting) - suggest you check your facts re. depth and breadth of NT's business very carefully. PBX business is not Nortel's cash cow (although they do have world leading status in this market, amongst several others).

Note also that telecomguy took a lot of pounding on this thread over a year ago by having the moose nuts (big) to post that NT would represent a better investment going forward... before they became the darling of the optical market. And we know how that turned out.

This is in distinct contrast to others with mere mouse nuts (small) who seem to be content in spouting telco wannabe market babble and unerringly loyal investment projections which seem to me to boil down to "the stock has to go up because it hasn't gone up recently".

WHICH DOES NOT COMPUTE

I pause now to reflect on the change in tone of posts of our vulcan friend (mindmeld) from Oct. last to now. He demonstrates a refreshingly open mind (for this thread).

Others of course seem to have gone overboard and prognosticate doom and gloom, as ludicrous to the downside as the perma-bulls to the upside. Does not demonstrate an understanding of the psychology that requires CSCO preserve its value and erode only gradually.

As one poster identified, as an icon of the marketplace, no investment is safe if this one tanks.
