Stantheman, et.al.: Reading about this thing makes me want to put my Palm pilot in a paper bag.......

LOL!! I can identify with that. To quote a variation on an old refrain...."So many toys...so little time!" ;-) 'Course....as it relates to Palmtops' I've got to admit I haven't caught the fever as yet. I'm still one of those who uses Franklin day-timers more frequently than any other gadget. Be that as it may CPQ just might be the first of those toys worth playing with. As for getting a read on the battery manufacturer....well...short of cracking one open and looking there may not be any way to know for sure. My bet is CPQ will be loathe to talk about it.....uh.....unless you're looking to buy a few gross of them for resale, etc.. In which case they might be willing to discuss it.

But speaking of toys, I just got Creatives new Nomad II MG MP3 player. Jeezus, what a sweeeet little deeevice! It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes, completely solid state, and with it's internal memory can store a little more than one CD's worth of sound. With an additional flash memory card this goes up to 3-4 CD's or so. It also has voice recording capability, an FM radio(which you can record directly into its memory), and adjunct software which allows you to create a music library, on your PC, of all your music. For those into such as this I highly recommend it. And then there's that new Hammacher device, doing much the same thing, but with over 4 GIG's of memory!! I haven't seen it....yet(heh)....but I gotta think it incorporates something like IBM's new mini-drive within it. Supposedly it'll store away over 100 CD's worth of music. Just think of it....an entire collection on a device the size of a cigarette pack!!?!

But bottom line? Whoooosh!! I tell ya....the toys just keep a'comin'! And ultimately? They're all gonna take rechargeable batteries. ;-)
