KT ------------------------------------------- Dear Investor, The securities industry's move to decimalized trading will begin soon. This means that stocks will trade in cents rather than fractions. For example, a stock that now trades at $32 1/2 will trade at $32.50. The industry is developing a plan to slowly phase in the change, ensuring an orderly transition from fractions to decimals. According to the plan, on August 28, 2000, a pilot group of 13 listed stocks and 3 related options will switch to decimals. On September 25, 2000, the pilot program is anticipated to expand to 50 NYSE securities. Additional securities, including Nasdaq-listed stocks, will be converted in early 2001. The SEC has ordered that trading should be fully decimalized by April 2001. You do not need to do anything to prepare for decimalization. Securities participating in the pilot program will be quoted, traded, and displayed on your trade confirmations and statements in decimal format (one-cent). On August 28, 2000, the pilot group of 13 stocks and options that will begin trading in one-cent increments will be as follows: Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) Forest City Enterprises Inc. Class A (FCE A) Forest City Enterprises Inc. Class B (FCE B) FedEx Corporation (FDX) Gateway Inc. (GTW) Hughes Supply Inc. (HUG) MSC.Software Corporation (MNS) Regal Beloit Corporation (RBC) Psychemedics Corporation (PMD) Global Light Telecommunications Inc. (GBT) ON2.com Inc. (ONT) eMagin Corporation (EMA) Media General Inc. (MEG.A) Options for FedEx, Gateway Inc., and Anadarko Petroleum Corp. will also be included in the pilot program. Note: for options, premiums for the pilot securities equal to or greater than $3 will be priced in ten-cent increments; premiums less than $3 will priced in five cent increments. Open orders for fractional securities changing to the decimal format will be converted on August 26, between 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m., ET. During this maintenance period, you will not be able to place a trade or view your order status online. This will affect open orders for pilot securities left on the order book after the August 25 market close or new orders for these securities received in a fractional increment between 4:00 p.m., ET, August 25 and 1:00 a.m., ET, August 26. All orders for the pilot securities placed after 6:00 a.m., ET. on August 26 will require order entry in decimal format. For more information about the open order conversion process or decimalization, please contact us. Sincerely, Barry Mione Director of Investor Services DLJdirect Inc. Member NASD, SIPC
