You've done a great job trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. ADI's CC today said a lot about how heavily they are into DSL. 90% of Korea's deployment is dependent on ADI chips which according to ADI is the largest DSL deployment in the world with over 2 million lines this year.

I can't see ALA just giving the business over to ADI though, but Scrapps has a rumor that ADI will be making the chips for ALA. As I said JUST A RUMOR. (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14211118)

Thanks for positioning the pieces so well,
Michael

If you read the bulletin dated 8-2-00 for AWRE you'll see this:

"• Alcatel’s chip unit. We believe that Alcatel Systems, which manufactures DSL access concentrators
for the Regional Bell telephone companies, is preparing to buy ADSL chips from suppliers other than
Alcatel’s captive chip unit, which has struggled both on quality and quantity issues. Top contenders
for the business are, in our judgment, Texas Instruments and ADI. Even a partial victory at Alcatel by
ADI would substantially boost Aware’s market share, which we now place at 40% to 45%."

IMO TXN isn't in the running and ADI could be already shipping to ALA...remember Newbridge uses ALA. All IMO of course.

Excellent post.

What do you think of Toiga Tech?

Do they have a chance against the big guys?

Wouldn't they make an excellent aquisition candidate for a company like PMCS?
