Burt, re: "I'm wondering if there is some good news lurking out of view" I think the good news is well known, but some folks are buying in anticipation of the good announcements. - Itanium release - Developers forum - Pentium 4 release - W 2000 upgrades are expected to accelerate - General strong demand - Improving gross margins - Strong 3rd Q revenue guidance I'm not sure how much of this is "priced in", it appears not all. My guess would be that any real surprises would have to be negative. I've also noticed that Intel's relative volatility seems to have decreased since it's addition to the Dow Industrials. Maybe coincidence. John
