Hello Kollmhn! Regarding the fabs: I own GLBL, but I don't own OII. (I also own HOFF.)

As you know, I have a sales background. A good salesman takes pride in knowing they could sell refrigerators to Eskimos, and I'm sure you've heard many other salesman analogies.

What OII lacks is a good story. A good sales job. Yeah, the numbers are there, but most people who invest don't have the investing knowledge or intellect that you have. They need something that will capture their imagination. (Need proof? Look at PKD.)

It's easy for a non-industry person to relate to pipes being placed on the ocean floor, it's easy for a non-industry type to envision a company building an oil platform, and it's easy to see the dismantling of an oil platform in one's mind.

I started to research OII last night. I was looking at a slide presentation on their website. I fell asleep reading about their robots. Maybe 2 AM was a bad time to comprehend what I was reading, but it didn't capture my imagination. I'll try again later today.

Yes sir, what we need is a good story! Anyone got one for OII? The K-meister and I would appreciate hearing one. Thanks!

kollmhn,

Just got back from downtown. It's nice to the OSX up when you expected it to be down.

I own both GLBL and OII. I agree with you on your analysis. I currently have a double position in OII and a full position in GLBL. I think they are both being effected for the same reasons, but I don't see much downside with either one.

OII is selling for less than half of the 2001 PE ratio, and OII is in a less competitive segment of the business.

Good luck,

Jim
