I LOVE watermelon.

The list of my dislikes is quite short:

Okra (Shudder, shudder!)
Rhubarb (The nuns used to force me to eat it, and I would throw it up every time.)
Mature, over-boiled asparagus
Cooked creamed celery (One of my mother's favorite recipes, God bless her soul.)
Beets

If you will note, all of the above share one revolting characteristic: slime!

As I said before: YECH! AAAACK! BLEAH!

I like boiled okra, especially boiled with tomatoes and onions. Yum. My tomatoes are finally really producing, fresh tomato every day, ecstasy. If only I had some okra, nice little okras about two inches long. *sigh*

My bet is jbe is a yankee who doesn't know how to cook okra. Probably never eaten collard greens either.
