LOL! Now stepping up to the plate is Erika Klauer, of DB Alex Brown fame:

Princeton, New Jersey, Aug. 16 (Bloomberg Data) -- Analog Devices (ADI US) was reiterated ``strong buy'' by analyst Erika Klauer at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. The 12-month target price is $108.00 per share.

Erika is obviously a little too busy on other matters to understand ADI's business. She was, at least, able to blindly regurgitate the following data from the CC in her research notes, "The company's strong backlog indicates that sales growth should continue to be driven by explosive demand from all end market segments, particularly communications.'' she said. She wrote that she now expected sales to reach $2.56 billion in fiscal 2000 and $3.74 billion in 2001."

Her $108 target (up from $97) puts ADI's PEG under 1.0. Incidently, she has the very same target ($108) on TXN, a PEG over 2.0.

I'm not going to say anything non-PC. Draw your own conclusions.

Can you imagine paying a "full service brokerage" (an oxymoron if ever there was one) about 2% annually to 'get you out of' ADI in the high 50's BECAUSE of NOK's Q3 earnings warning?? Damn I'd verbally rip my broker so many new you-know-whats it ain't funny. Long 'n strong ADI while the ANALysts try half-heartedly to 'pull their thumb out' ;-)

LOL

Over heard in a WS brokerage:

"You idiot...get your butt in my office! We pay you big bucks to be an Analyst and what do you do? You miss the company growing faster than TXN. Now start packing a lunch to work or else it's the boot for you buddy! I want a full report on ADI...NOW!!!

Humm...this report looks familiar...where have I seen this before?

Exactly what happened after the JDSU-SDLI merger announcement. "SDL Who???????" Heck, most on the Street were saying, "JDSU Who. . . ." But can you imagine how many analysts missed the biggest tech buyout in Wall Street history?

Perhaps ADI will get a NYT lead-in like the following:

JDS Who? Fast Growth, Farflung Fold and Worries
By LAURA M. HOLSON
When JDS Uniphase announced last week that it was buying a competitor, SDL, for an astounding $41 billion in stock, many on Wall Street wondered, who are these guys? . . .
