Ztect,
First, Washington D.C. has the highest per pupil education spending in the nation. I didn't see Clinton or Gore sending their kids to those public schools. I agree there are some individual teachers who are outstanding in the public schools. As far as Michigan, check the Federal funds they receive and tell me they aren't fed into the school system. You'll probably be surprised. Second, most folks aren't incorporated. They pay all the taxes and we suck it down compared to Europe regardless of deductions. Most of us receive little to nothing from the Gov't except the Defense(thank goodness) and interstate highways. Those that can't help themselves are taken care of. It's all those that can take care of themselves but live off the Gov't that cause the imbalance.knc
