You are right to post info whether it be pro or con. I made a number of inquiries to knowledgeable photonic geeks immediately after the release and the comments I heard back are in line with this article. It is possible for this to snake-bite MLT if it is subsequently determined that the technology is not economicaly viable, so I'm not sure I'm so happy about the announcement. I am the first to admit that I stay in a state of high paranoia, but the announcment does seem premature and out of character with Mitel. It makes me wonder why? Is BCS continuing to crater so they are floating some fluff to put up a smoke screen? I do concede that this could be a sucessful strategy however. The last conference call one of the analysts was relentlessly badgering Mandy about what they had going in the the optical world and trying to make the case that the world of electronics was over. News like this will would seem to feed her what she wants to hear, so maybe that is the game they have decided thay have to play. I too am no basher. I am long as hell on this stock and have been in and out of it for years. I have tremendous confidence in management, so if this is their call I'll assume it is the right one. Still nervous as hell though.
