Jason, beware! There is an inverse relationship between who frequently appears in "common" magazines and their chances of success.

In past years, those who made the cover of "Inc Magazine" had a substantial chance of going bankrupt within the next 24 months. I used to talk about how so many California companies with names starting with "V" appeared on major publications as succcess stories but that few "Vxxxx" companies remain alive and well today (Verizon is not only new but it just happens to have 83K employees out on strike at the moment).

I just tossed the biography of the turd who came from Pepsi to take over Apple after Steve Jobs was fired. IMHO, publishers have no conscience, no sense of history, nor any idea what the future will bring.

Anyone can write a book. Anyone can get published. But building a company ... now that's another thing entirely. IMHO, those who can build a company, deserve HUGE amounts of respect from us all.
