In listening to the call last night, I'd say Fishman was goaded by a few of the analysts to compare/contrast ADI to TXN. He side-stepped a few early Q's but eventually caved and made what I thought were fair, honest comparisons, where applicable.

I think he was hoping that these guys would have been able to do the math on their own, as in ADI's DSP business is growing 3x faster than TXN's.

The real point, IMO, is that because ADI is already doing what TXN hopes to eventually do more of with their Burr acquisition, ADI is well ahead and firmly entrenched anywhere high performance analog "drags" digital signal business, and vice versa. They are the complete solution provider that TXN wants to become. The ultimate compliment, no?
