Novell Options Plays Aimed at Earnings By Brian Louis Staff Reporter 8/16/00 1:12 PM ET Speculators have been out en masse on Novell (NOVL:Nasdaq - news) options lately, as traders have positioned themselves for what they hope will be serious upside in the stock. On Monday, options volume on Novell took off as the company's stock surged ahead of its earnings announcement slated for Wednesday. While the stock slipped marginally Tuesday, volume and prices on Novell call options were still extremely high, and that unusual development made some options-market analysts take notice.
