OPEC to add 1.1 mil barrels of capacity in 2001

Seems we'll still be in a tight supply situation if the Japan and Asia's economies stay strong imho.

Hello Kollmhn! Thanks for the SSB report. I've been away from the computer most of the day and I'm behind on my reading. I'm just now getting to your post. I see a bunch ahead of me.

You asked:

>> It seems the entire sector continues to suffer from delayed project awards. No meaningful pick up is expected for OII, GLBL, etc. until 2001.

Is it still too early to own any of them? <<

Not for a man in your position. 2000 shares of each, instead of your usual 5K or more, and put them away for safe keeping. Think of them as the acorn that turns into the mighty oak.

The bright spot is you won't have to wait as long as the real oak.

As the the future gets brighter, you can always get into a serious accumulating mode.

If I can get a bid of 12 tomorrow, I'll sell 2/3 of my GLBL and put that other 1/3 away for next year. With a little TLC, the returns should be very handsome.

The ever humble, but delighted to be holding OEI, HOFF and PDE,
