Very true. It can be rephrased for another situation.

When a car crashes, the deceleration period during which the car structure crushes and crumbles lasts only about 100-200 milliseconds. In the initial 20-50 ms, an occupant barely moves a few inches. Then the action becomes dramatic very quickly as the occupant picks up speed, and BANG.

It is over before one can blink eyes once.
