Reagan lied about Iran Contra and eventually admitted it. It might have become a major constitutional crisis. Just like in 1998, the will of the American people was to forgive and move on. In 1987 the congress had the good sense to listen to their constituents. In 1999 the petty republican leadership flipped a finger at vox populi and went on to waste millions over meaningless impeachment debates. Your taxes and my taxes paid for it. I think it was wrong. But the conservatives believe that wasting our taxes on witch hunts is good thing. Now that's an ulterior motive for ya !
