That is untrue, Bush is extremely pro-life. And Cheney is even worse than Bush, voting against abortions even in the case of rape or incest. The GOP maintained their strong anti-abortion stance at the last convention, as you know. This is the "official" position,

The current language on abortion reads, in part: "The unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution . . . We support the appointment of judges who respect . . .the sanctity of innocent human life."

Bush has pledged that he will not adhere to the "litmus test" when appointing justices. This is NOT THE SAME as supporting abortion rights.

Additionally, Cheney voted against the Equal Rights Amendment.
