Or does Dallas do Luby's Cafeterias?

Luby's, in an attempt to upgrade its stodgy image, has
dropped "Cafeteria" from its name. Unfortunately, Luby's
remains a stodgy cafeteria for the most part. I go by the
Post Oak location every now and then when I'm eating alone
and don't particularly need any ambience. That location
was remodelled last year and went from frumpy to something
resembling Soup'R'Salad or Boston Market. It didn't help.

I rarely order dessert when I eat out, but I may look for
their lemon chess pie, which will likely be good but a
distant second to my late Aunt Myrtle's. Their food overall
is pretty good, but their management can't seem to get a
handle on the TF (Tacky Factor).

All the above is just my opinion. I know there are many
who are loyal to Luby's and like it very much. But a
manager recently told me that the Houston customer count
is down about 20%, so I'm not alone in thinking they need
some improvements to catch up with the more trendy places
(Cafe Express, etc.) that have sprung up.
