My tomatoes plants gave up the ghost to the heat almost a month ago.

We have the opposite problem. Has been chilly up here all summer -- almost no days in the 80s -- and my tomatoes are still trying to flower. Not even a hint of a tomato yet. Sigh.

And I agree with you totally about the store bought junk.

Except Costco sometimes carries tomatoes on the vine in bags, which are actually very good.
