I have nothing against TA or Monty and you are right about buying at lower rather than higher. Yet can not help myself but wonder how one predict single stock price swings over a short period of time.

I treat any price as a function of future expectations taking into account such things as risk, performance and relative performance.

It also looks to me that fluctuation gains are equal to the losses - 0 sum game. Only an introduction of the relevant news would warrant value revision. If both sides are using ta then what is the value of ta?

I would not argue that the there are tendencies in price movements but unless you can take an advantage of it with the risk adjusted gains then....

as far as link, that you have to find on your own somewhere on this thread.

ps if anyone thinks that anyone predicted top then they are fooling themselves. Change in direction was due to news on flash and semi sector. If we would not have that news we would be well in 3 digit price by now. So if the news would not come then one side of ta would be right and, of course, now another side is right. Does that mean that ta can predict demand on products along with the price on stock?
